Household Finance: Who Benefits, Who Pays, and What Can Change?
Join us for a seminar with Tarun Ramadorai, Professor of Financial Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and recipient of this year’s Skandia Research Award on Long-Term Savings.
Drawing on this research, Ramadorai will discuss how financial markets can better support households’ long-term financial security. He will also draw on his recent book Fixed: Why Personal Finance Is Broken and How to Make It Work for Everyone, co-authored with John Y. Campbell.
He will discuss:
- Why financial inaction persists, and who bears its costs
- How firms respond when regulators change the rules
- Who gains from automation, and where human advice matters
- What these findings mean for saving, borrowing, and insurance markets
The event will be conducted in English.
