PAtLink

PAtLink provides a matching file with the relationship between a unique patent/trademark identifier and a unique organization identifier. The patent file includes all patents belonging to Swedish firms since 1990. The patent data are extracted from Patstat and organization number are extracted from the Serrano database. The organization number allows matching between patent information and accounting, financial information on the patenting firms.

The overarching aim of PAtLink project is to create and free of charge distribute a comprehensive matching file between patent and trademark information and organization information. The matching file will consist of the relationship between a unique patent/trademark identifier and a unique organization identifier. Patlink project is financed by Vinnova. The current files are the first series of information on patent and trademarks. The files will be updated annually.

The patent file includes all patents belonging to Swedish firms from 1991-2021. The patent data are extracted from PATSTAT and organization number are extracted from SERRANO database. The unique identifier from PATSTAT (appln_nr_epodoc) allow matching data with further information regarding patents. The organization number allow matching data with SERRANO database to receive the accounting information of firms.

The trademark file include all trademarks belonging to Swedish firms from 1990-2020 registered in the Swedish Patent and Registeration Office (PRV). The trademark data are extracted from PRV and organization number are extracted from SERRANO database. The unique identifier from PRV (ApplicationNumber) allow matching data with further information regarding trademark. The organization number allow matching data with SERRANO database to receive the accounting information of firms.

The dataset archive includes also the EUIPO Trademark Data from 1998 to 2017
