More companies are going bankrupt compared to last year

The number of bankruptcies continues to increase. In September, bankruptcies increased by 14 percent compared to the same month last year, according to preliminary statistics from the credit company UC. Bo Becker (Swedish House of Finance) told Studio Ett about how the economic downturn, rising interest rates, and repayments of government COVID-19 support are currently affecting companies and how reconstructions can help companies avoid bankruptcy. "For slightly larger companies that have, for example, expertise within the organization, unique products, brands, and so on, it is often better for everyone involved - even those who have lent money - not to shut down the business. Instead, a reconstruction is carried out."
