PhD education at the Swedish House of Finance is conducted through a collaboration with the Department of Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics. Stockholm School of Economics is one of the leading institutions in Europe providing specialized courses in finance, and the only university in Sweden with a dedicated finance department.
The PhD course program is open by application for all PhD students in finance admitted to an economics or business PhD program in Sweden. In most cases, we provide funding for travelling costs for students taking courses outside the Stockholm area. The center provides five core courses in finance each year that form the basis for a PhD finance specialization at an international level.
In addition, we organize two to three short courses where we invite world leading specialist to teach in areas of topical interest. The Swedish House of Finance also arranges an annual conference for PhD students, where PhD candidates are invited to present their work in an environment with highly qualified researchers and discussants. PhD students from other cities may (by application) also visit the center for shorter or longer time periods.
The Stockholm School of Economics admits students and administrates courses at all other levels. For executive education, we collaborate with SSE Executive Education.
